The Custard Stand serves hot dogs, chili and ice cream on Webster Road, and the chili is the reason people detour: a century-old family recipe that the Cowgers took onto Shark Tank and now sell packaged across the country, and which WVU athletics calls its official chili. It is a small stand in a small town in the middle of the state, which is exactly where you want one - Webster Springs sits in the gap between the Highland Scenic country and the Elkins side, and there is not much else along there.
